Frequently, it can be associated with a family inheritance.

To detect breast cancer imaging techniques such as mammograms and breast ultrasounds are performed.
Given the suspicion of a breast pathology, puncture of the lesion, biopsy and study of the tissue are indicated.
How is breast cancer treated?
Most people undergo one or more of the following treatments:
- Surgery: Currently, conservative surgery is always attempted, extracting only the tumor. This type of surgery is always complemented with radiotherapy. Depending on the type of cancer, excision of the sentinel lymph node will also be indicated. In other cases, a mastectomy, surgery in which the entire chest is removed.
- Reconstructive plastic surgery in case of mastectomy. Each case will be assessed.
- Radiotherapy
- Chemotherapy: Some women perform it before surgery to reduce the size of the tumor and thus facilitate its removal. Other women take them after surgery to prevent it from developing, or coming back. Depending on the type and its extension, chemotherapy will be indicated.
- Hormonal therapy: Some forms develop because of hormones. In these cases, a treatment can be given to block the hormones.
- Targeted therapy: Some medicines work only on types of cancer that have certain characteristics. The doctor performs the necessary tests to see if you have a type of cancer that responds to these medicines.
Can it be prevented?
Women at high risk, who carry a mutation in their genes, can take a medicine to help prevent the disease.
