Since 2011 it has also been the Coordinator of Obstetric and Gynecological Processes at the Corachan Clinic.
La Dr. gomez roig es Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona and coordinator of the Obstetrics area at BCNatal (Barcelona Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Medicine Center, Sant Joan de Déu Hospital – Hospital Clínic) since 2013. It leads the high-complexity healthcare activity in obstetrics and gynecology, integrating clinical leadership, university academic responsibility and competitive national and international research.
Since April 2026 it is also Surgical Director of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona. Leads and organizes the area, ensuring its alignment with the center's strategic plan. Coordinates and optimizes surgical activity, promoting excellence in care and patient safety. Leads multidisciplinary teams and drives technological innovation.
At the international level, he has been one of the expert members of Reproductive Developmental and Environmental Health Committee from the International Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics: International Federation of Gynecologists and Obstetrics – FIGO.

Teaching
Es Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona 2014 since. He coordinates the Obstetrics and Gynecology subject of the Degree in Medicine (since 2018) and the sixth year of the Degree (since 2020). She has been an associate professor in the Midwifery specialty (UB, 2011–2012) and a professor at the Institut d'Estudis de la Salut (2013–2016). Between 2003 and 2013 she worked as a tutor for residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He directs national and international training programs in Maternal-Fetal Medicine through Fetal R&D Education (Fetal Medicine Barcelona) and the Darwin Simulation Centre of the Sant Joan de Déu HospitalShe is a leading figure in the field of advanced clinical simulation in obstetrics. She has been a member of the Scientific Committee and faculty of the International Master's Program in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Barcelona since 2018. She has supervised 12 completed doctoral theses and 4 ongoing projects, in addition to numerous master's theses and undergraduate and residency final projects. She collaborates in the supervision of international theses within the Erasmus Mundus FetalMed-PhD program.
Research projects
In research, she leads the line of research “Environment and complications in pregnancy” at the Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute (IRSJD) and Fetal R&D. She analyzes exposure to environmental pollutants and their influence on placental pathology and obstetric complications. She is the principal investigator on projects of the Carlos III Health Institute (PI23/00053, PI20/00490, PI17/00105, PI11/02590, PI04/1637, EC10-147), Sant Joan de Déu Foundation (BR201402, BR201902) and international projects competitive such as Health Effects Institute (RFA17-1), ERC Advanced Grant (AIR-NB) and Horizon 2020 (ATHLETE).
He is IP of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital group in the SAMID Network funded by the ISCIII (RD08/0072; RD16/0022/0014) and subsequently in calls RICORS (RD21/0012/0003; RD24/0013/0004). Directs the recruitment and management of research staff linked to ten active grants (BR201402, RD16/0022/0014, PFIS0120, RFA17-1, AIR-NB, ATHLETE, PFIS0313, RD21/0012/0003, RD24/0013/0004 and La Marató de TV3).
It has obtained two regional research grants (AQU Catalunya, 2012–2017 and 2018–2023, awarded in 2024) and holds the Research Accreditation (2018), the Accreditation of Advanced Research – Professor (2024) and the national accreditation for Full Professor of University in Health Sciences (2024).
